Will this work with my original PS5 Digital Edition from 2020/2021?
No. This disc drive is designed exclusively for the redesigned PlayStation 5 "Slim" models released from late 2023 onwards. It will not physically fit or connect to the launch model PS5 Digital Edition.

Do I need to buy new side plates if I attach this?
